AC/AHSCP Critical Analysis and Reflection
This badge allows NQSW’s the opportunity to evidence critical analysis and reflection on how they have prepared for, and completed statutory, work based assessments( reports) and identified future learning & development needs based on 360 feedback
This badge will help a NQSW evidence their progression towards the following standards:
Standard 1 – Developing confidence and competence in the process of assessment using critical thinking skills and analysis to inform professional judgement and decision making.
Standard 2 – Collaborate effectively with service users and others to plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
Standard 3 – Positively promoting the wellbeing, support and protection of children and adults at risk of harm.
Standard 4 -Developing competence and confidence in the professional Social Work role and in managing complexity in professional decision making, drawing on research, evidence and best practice.
Standard 5 – Demonstrating the habits of a practitioner-researcher through routine continuous learning and enquiry with which to encourage and support the learning of self and others.

To achieve this badge you will need to:
- Listen to the podcast-on analysis at http://www.helpfulsocialwork.com/4a-assessment-part-2 and reflect on what this means for your own practice.
- Complete a comprehensive assessment/ report which collates evidence from a range of sources
- Request feedback from your mentor, manager or a colleague on how you have applied the evidence base, the quality of analysis and the appropriateness of your professional judgement/ recommendation/ decision-making.
- Using the self assessment tool reflect upon the development of your assessment skills to identify strengths, progress and areas that need developed.

To successfully complete the badge learners must evidence their understanding of the key issues and demonstrate their application in practice by completing the activities listed below:
- Upload your reflections on the meaning of the Podcast for your practice
- Upload an anonymised comprehensive assessment/ report
- Upload evidence of feedback on how you have applied an evidence base, the quality of your analysis and the appropriateness of your professional judgement/ recommendation/ decision-making
- Upload evidence of a discussion about your use of the self-assessment tool with your mentor/ manager
We will accept evidence in audio, written or pictorial formats. Case examples can be in the format of anonymised records or reports.
