PIE is often described as a service that takes into account the psychological makeup – the thinking, emotions, personalities and past experiences of its participants in the way it operates, to achieve its ends.
How would you rate your current level of knowledge of PIE? (please circle below)

Please take a note of your answer, as we will revisit this at the end of the course
-
- What level of psychological awareness do you believe is required to enable you to carry out your role effectively (Is PIE really needed at all?).
- Reflect upon your current work environment and consider whether it provides the atmosphere, relationships, social and practical opportunities that you would want from it. What do you notice that assists the environment and what are some of the challenges? (Spend some time looking around and write down what comes to your immediate mind. Try and see it through the eyes of a service user coming in to the service for the first time).
- How do you have a good day at work? Describe what makes it a good day.
- Consider a not so good day at work. What makes it not so good?
- What do you hope to gain from undertaking this course?
