BeMe 360° video – Older Adults
This badge is awarded to learners who watch both the scenarios in the Older People category in the BeMe 360° video smartphone app and submit evidence that meets the badge criteria.
This badge provided recognition of your learning from viewing the two scenarios in the Older People category of the BeMe 360° video experience app. To be awarded the badge, you will need to submit answers to questions relating to your experience like ‘How did it feel as the worker approached you?’ The aim of the scenarios and this badge is to help you to understand how it feels to receive care and support.
Please note that this badge will remain valid for 2 years from the date it is awarded. After this, you will need to reapply for the badge if you wish to retain it in your badge portfolio or use it as evidence of prior learning.
To be awarded this badge, you must do the following:
- Watch both videos in the Older Adults category
- For each video, you must note at least three things about your experience, including anything that surprised you, and explain why these are important (Minimum word count: 75 words)
- For each video, tell us how the workers is working in line with the national ‘Health and Social Care Standards’. Please make sure you identify the individual standards that apply. (Minimum word count: 150 words)
- Write a short reflective account to tell us how you will use what you have learned from watching the videos in your own practice, including anything that you will do differently as a result of using the BeMe smartphone app (Minimum word count: 150 words)
- Discuss your experience using the app with someone (eg. a colleague, line manager, fellow student) and write a short note of this discussion (Minimum word count: 100 words)
Badge applications that do not meet all the criteria above will be returned to the applicant to enable them to do more work on the application.
Before applying for this badge, you mist have been awarded the SSSC’s ‘Getting started with Open Badges’ and ‘Writing evidence for Open Badge applications’. While it is not a prerequisite for this badge, you are strongly advised to undertake and be awarded the ‘Health and Social Care Standards’ badges.
Evidence for this badge can be provided in written, audio (mp3) or video formats (mp4).
