ELC Thing 14 – Resilience and my self-leadership
Scotland’s social services need effective leadership at all levels of the workforce and everyone has a leadership role to play, whatever their role at work. Leadership begins with leading ourselves and the SSSC self-leadership capability includes being resilient. Resilience helps us to pursue our goals despite obstacles and setbacks.
This badge is awarded to people who have:
- worked through Thing 14: Resilience and my self-leadership.
- provided evidence of their learning through reflective writing.
This is part of the 23 Things ELC Leadership programme.
To earn this badge you must:
- work through Thing 14 of 23 Things ELC Leadership
- write at least 200 words to evidence how you have reflected on the range of strategies which build your resilience at work, or how you have supported others to be resilient, either as a colleague or manager.
We will decline Open Badge applications without a completed reflective activity.
Before you submit applications and evidence for any of the 23 Things ELC Leadership Open Badges, it is recommended that you achieve these two Open Badges first:

You may also find it helpful to complete Things 1 – 4 before starting Thing 14.
Complete all of the the activities as described in Thing 14 and write a statement (minimum 200 words) to evidence how you have reflected on the range of strategies which build your resilience at work, or how you have supported others to be resilient, either as a colleague or manager.
