GCHSCP Anxiety and depression awareness
This Open Badge is awarded to people who complete the Anxiety and depression awareness course offered by Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership. A recipient will gain greater awareness of the effects of mild to moderate anxiety and depression. They will learn how to support their own well-being and improve their professional practise.
This Open Badge is awarded to people who complete the Anxiety and depression awareness course offered by Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership. This foundation level interactive course explores the factors which affect a person’s mental health. Recipients of this badge will have looked at what causes the physical effects of anxiety and depression and how it can affect thought process, emotions and behaviours. As well as learning how to support their own well-being, the course explores how participants can use this knowledge to improve their practise at work.
A recipient of this badge will understand:
- what mental health is
- what affects mental health
- what mild to moderate anxiety and depression is
- how these conditions affect our bodies, thoughts, feelings and behaviours
- stigma around mental health
- where to go to learn more or for help.
This course is available by invitation from Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership. If you work within the HSCP and would like to attend a session, please contact Mary at [email protected]
To achieve this badge you will need to:
- participate in one of the course sessions run by Glasgow City HSCP (3 hours)
- tell us how you will use this learning to improve your own wellbeing and how you will put this into practice in your workplace (150 words minimum).
Applications which do not adequately demonstrate these criteria may be returned with a request for further evidence of your participation.

During the session activities, the facilitator will tell you what evidence you need to gather to support your application for this badge. Some of this will come from work you do within your team and the rest will be your own work.
The evidence you submit will be visible to anyone you show your badge to. Please do not include confidential or private information within this.
