This badge relates to chapter 10 'Supporting someone in distress' of the Personal Behaviour Support e-Book.
This badges relates to chapter 10 of the Positive Behaviour Support e-Book and will introduce ways of supporting people when they are in crisis or experiencing distress which is being demonstrated as behavioural challenges. It will talk about the importance of respect and of good relationships.
The aim of the chapter is to help you be able to deal better with crisis situations when they arise.
To be awarded this badge, you must:
Use your work from learning activity 28 to write an ‘ideal’ response to your example using the 3 Rs framework.
How could you Respond, support Refocusing and Recovery? Consider your words, body language, facial expression and tone. Do you think the person experienced what you wanted them to?
Write a short reflective account of between 200 and 300 words about what you have learned in this chapter and how you will apply it supporting someone in distress.
Submit this along with learning activities 27-29 from this chapter to apply for the open badge for this chapter.
