New to SSSC registration
This Open Badge is awarded to people who demonstrate an understanding of what it means to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and the responsibilities of a registrant.
Are you a newly registered worker with the Scottish Social Services Council?
The activities for this badge will help you learn about what it means to be registered, including why we have registration for social service workers in Scotland, how this contributes to better outcomes for people using services and what your responsibilities are as a registrant.
You’ll also learn about the benefits of being a registered worker and how you can make the most of these.
This badge is no longer available.
To earn this badge, you must:
- complete this online learning resource about SSSC registration (40 minutes)
- put your SSSC registration number at the top of your evidence submission (required)
- tell us about at least three things you learned from this activity and why these are important to you (150 words minimum)
- tell us, in your own words, what your responsibilities are as a registrant and how you will make sure you meet these obligations (150 words minimum)
- tell us about at least one thing you will do, or have already done, to encourage and/or support your colleagues to achieve this badge (optional).
Applications which do not adequately demonstrate these criteria will be returned.
You be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council at the time of your application for this badge.
You will need to provide a reflective account of at least 300 words for this badge, fully answering the first two questions asked in the above criteria. Make sure you clearly indicate which question you are responding to in each part of your evidence submission. The third question is optional.
If you want to use a blog or ePortfolio entry as evidence, you might find our guide to preparing and publishing your evidence useful. We will also accept audio or video statements if you prefer these formats.
Please remember, the evidence you provide will be viewable by anyone who you show your badge to. Do not include confidential or private information within your statement.
