AC/AHSCP SSKS Knowledge and Evidence Champion
The SSKS badges form part of the pathway of learning for newly qualified social workers in Angus and will contribute to the Evidence Informed Practice Milestone badge. This badge provides the learner with opportunity to explore and access resources to support evidence informed practice and maintain a level of research mindedness to support the continuous learning and development of self and others.
Social work practice involves being able to respond effectively to support and protect individuals and groups and promote their well-being. It is critical for practitioners to demonstrate flexibility in both their thinking and approach by having a range of theories and approaches to consider. The ability to recognise and articulate the approaches used and their underpinning theories or research base will support practice which is defensible as opposed to defensive.
This is one of 3 badges that together form the Evidence Informed Practice Milestone Badge.
This badge links to all the practice standards for newly qualified workers and particularly with:
Standard 1. Developing confidence and competence in the process of assessment using critical thinking skills and analysis to inform professional judgement and decision making.
Standard 4. Developing competence and confidence in the professional social work role and in managing complexity in professional decision making; drawing on research, evidence and best practice.
Standard 5. Demonstrating the habits of a practitioner-researcher through routine continuous learning and enquiry with which to encourage and support the learning of self and others
