Carer aware in the workplace
The sessions raise awareness of carers within workplaces and recognise that employees with a caring role must feel supported and valued. Participation in a Carers at Work session helps employees and line managers to feel confident in sharing their details around their caring roles within a supportive organisation. For those who are not in a caring role, the session raises awareness and allows them to develop their practice to make sure carers feel supported and valued.
Attendees at one of these sessions will:
- be more aware of carers and young carers
- have an insight into the impact of caring
- recognise the relevance of carers to workforce activities within SSSC/Care Inspectorate/NES
- have increased awareness of carers in the workplace and how to support them
- understand the EPiC Core Principles for Working with Carers and Young Carers.
To earn this badge you will need to:
- attend and participate in a Carer at Work session
- tell us how you plan to put what you learned into practice and share your learning with colleagues.
