SCMA Childminders: GIRFEC into Practice
GIRFEC is the national approach in Scotland to improving outcomes and supporting the wellbeing of children and young people by offering the right help at the right time from the right people. It supports them and their parent(s) to work in partnership with the services that can help them. Childminders are required to use the GIRFEC approach to ensure the way they support children, young people and their
parents is consistent and effective.
This Open Badge is awarded to childminders who demonstrate and understanding of the Getting it Right for Every Child Framework and how this is put into practice.
To earn this badge you will need to:
- Have completed the SCMA GIRFEC into Practice workshop or completed the GIRFEC into Practice eLearning programme
- Tell us the following:
- What is GIRFEC?
- Explain what each of the eight well-being indicators are and how they link to your childminding practice?
- Tell us about something you have learnt from the course that will help you to improve your practice?
