SCMA Childminders: Child Protection in a childminding setting
All children have the right to protection. They have the right to be safe, healthy, achieving, nurtured, active, respected, responsible and included. They have the right to receive adequate care and to grow up in a protective environment which meets the Health and Social Care Standards. The Childminders; Child Protection in a Childminding Setting Open Badge is awarded to childminders who demonstrate an understanding of child protection procedures and practice within the early learning and childcare sector.
To earn this badge you will need to:
- Have completed the SCMA Child Protection in a Childminding Setting CPL workshop or completed the Child Protection in a Childminding Setting e-Learning programme
- Tell us the following:
- What is abuse? (Including different types of abuse)
- How would you identify abuse?
- What would you do if you did identify abuse?
- Tell us about something you learned from Child Protection in a Childminding Setting that helped you to improve your practice.
Submit your application
The SCMA Open Badge system relies on trust. We trust that the evidence you provide will be of your own work and based on your own skills and knowledge.
