SCMA Induction to Childminding
This badge is awarded to potential childminders who demonstrate an awareness of the unique role of a childminder and the requirements of operating a childminding business including:
- The unique role of the childminder
- The requirements of operating a childminding business, including legislation
- Health and Social Care Standards. My support, my life
- The Care Inspectorate
- PVG Scheme and Child Protection
- Personal Plans
- Getting it Right for Every Child (GIRFEC)
To earn this badge you will need to:
- have completed the SCMA Induction to Childminding CPL course or completed the Induction to Childminding e-Learning programme
- Tell us the following:
- The role of a childminder and the roles and responsibilities this entails.
- What steps you must take in order to become registered as a Childminder i.e. who you need to register with and why.
- Explain what you have learnt about Personal plans, Health and Social Care Standards, Getting it Right for Every Child (GIRFEC) and other legislation you need to be aware of and why.
- Tell us how you plan to put this into practice.
