Mouth Care Advice for Care at Home Services
NHS Education for Scotland’s vision is to lead through sustainable educational solutions and working collaboratively with key partners to reduce inequalities and improve oral health for priority groups.
This Open Badge is awarded to professionals who work or volunteer in Care at Home Services and look after client’s mouth care. It contributes to 6 hours of learning. The content of the badge has been recognised as important information for the essential mouth care by Caring for Smiles guide to care homes and the Care Inspectorate.
To earn this badge, you will need to:
• View the Mouth care in the Care At Home Education Pack
• Review the associated links to further reading (Check out table 4 as stipulated in the PPE guidance)
• Tell us about this topic (50 words minimum)
• Tell us about three things you learned and why each of these is important to
(a) you and
(b) people who are clients you work or volunteer to help care for at home.
(150 words minimum)
• Tell us how you will use what you learned in your day to day work to develop and improve your practice as a care at home worker caring for clients mouths (125 words minimum)
• Tell us what you did to share what you learned with others (25 words minimum).
