This badge will explore ways in which societal ageism can affect the mental health wellbeing of older people.
You will begin to recognise the strengths older people bring with them and how your practice can help combat the stigma of age by introducing the 5 key factors needed for a positive life.
To earn this badge you will need to:

- Consider the following 5 key factors needed for a positive, well lived life as identified by Age Concern in partnership with The Mental Health Foundation.
- Absence of discrimination
- Participation in meaningful activities
- Positive relationships
- Physical and mental health wellbeing
- Free from financial stresses
- Read the 2 case studies found in the staff area of the Support in Mind Scotland website:http://www.supportinmindscotland.org.uk
