Foot Care in Care Settings – Personal Care for Feet
- Describe what is meant by personal footcare
- Provide clarity on the services and interventions that NHS podiatry services offer
- Provide information on the educational resources available which offer help and support both for individuals and care providers in the provision of personal footcare

To remind providers of personal care of the tasks involved in delivering personal care of the feet.
- Watch the video ‘A guide to basic footcare‘ on YouTube (8 minutes).
- Read ‘Looking after your feet‘
- Tell us about what you learned from these activities and how you have put personal footcare into your client care/practice giving an anonymised example of someone under your care. (150 words minimum).
- Discuss what you have learned with someone (e.g. line manager or colleague) and make a short note of this discussion. (50 words minimum).
- Please add a note of your role (e.g. care home carer; unpaid carer; friend/family) and which healthboard/partnership you work or reside in.
Your application will be returned to you with a request for further evidence if it does not meet all the above criteria or if it is not clear which of these questions you are answering within your evidence.
